Walt-Translate simple Polygons
on a coordinate plane
Success criteria
• All should be able to plot coordinates on
quadrants correctly and translate a point in
the four quadrants of a grid (Point 1-4)
• Most should be able to draw simple
polygons using coordinates and can
translate them with accuracy. (Point 4+ to 6)
• Some would be able to identify and
describe the position of a shape on a coordinate grid following a translation (Point
7-9)

Translation
A translation "slides" an object a fixed
distance in a given direction.
Every point of the shape must move:
the same distance, in the same direction. It will
“slide” a shape up, down, right, left or all
the above.
