That is why this study tackles one of the major causes of plastic pollution which is the consumption of single-use plastic. This study entitled “A Descriptive Study on the Perceptions of High School Students Towards the Consumption of Single-use Plastic” aimed to know more about single use plastics, especially to understand the different perceptions of high school students about it. The researchers used descriptive method where a survey was conducted by distributing questionnaires to gather data from the respondents. The respondents were 100 high school students regardless of age and sex from selected high schools. After the data was analyzed. it was found out that high school students use single-use plastics because of its benefits such as cheapness, flexibility, sanitation, and usefulness. However, even though high school students prefer single-use plastics, they use reusable materials to lessen the consumption of it for they are aware of the negative consequences it impose on the environment. Also, the students are responsible in disposing their plastics wastes. Therefore, it is recommended that students must be more aware about the issues concerning the consumption of single use plastics in order to improve their actions towards it. v ACKNOWLEDGEMENT The researchers would like to express their deepest gratitude to all who took part in the completion of the study for they have given their patience and support its success.
