Makati, Pasay, and Muntinlupa.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said a magnitude 5.5 quake hit the
province of Quezon at 4:28 p.m. Friday.

for palay and the release of P27 NFA rice in the market as an immediate measure to curb the impact of
Republic Act 11203 or the Rice Liberalization Law.
Amihan secretary-general and Bantay Bigas spokesperson Cathy Estavillo said that the given high
farming costs and the increase in prices of goods, is just right. The buying price of palay from farmers
should remain at P20 per kilo and should not be cheaper than that.
However, Majority of the farmers aren't really favored with that. Just like Mang Kanor, one of the

Marikina River is connected to a creek in Barangay Bagong Silangan, Quezon City, where local
authorities have found three dead pigs whose remains were "discolored, bloated and almost rotten" on
Wednesday and another five, from Thursday to Friday morning. They are also currently being tested for
African swine fever (ASF). Authorities are awaiting confirmatory laboratory test results which may take
weeks.

tag makes it more accessible to a larger audience. Now roughly the same cost as a pair of AirPods, it's
about as close to a stocking stuffer as Apple gets.
The Apple Watch came from humble beginnings but it's made major strides since its 2015 launch: It now
offers cellular connectivity, meaning it doesn't need to be tied to an iPhone to be fully functional, and has
a strong foothold on the wearables market.

On Monday afternoon, the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil, went dark — but it wasn't some strange cosmic
event. Powerful winds carried the smoke from forest fires burning nearly 1,700 miles away. Almost
73,000 fires have been detected by Brazil's space research center INPE, according to Reuters. It's a record
number this year, the agency said.
The smoke has traveled from the fires blazing in the Brazilian states of Rondônia and Amazonas and
blackened the sky above the city for about an hour.

Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) may tap a foreign coach to take charge of the Philippine national
basketball team, following the resignation of coach Yeng Guiao.
Guiao stepped down from the post after Gilas Pilipinas went winless in five games in the 2019 FIBA
Basketball World Cup in China. Among their losses were blowouts to Italy and Serbia, and a 20-point
defeat to Asian rival Iran in their last game.
Upon their arrival from China on Tuesday morning, SBP officials acknowledged that they have yet to put
together a shortlist of coaches to take Guiao's place.
Here's the statement of the former SBP chairman.
