1 Casey Gray Dr. Volf English 101 26 October 2019 CEO Report The Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization is a club offered on the campuses of 250 colleges including the University of South Alabama. Hosting over sixteen thousand annual business minded students, CEO offers many opportunities to grow and develop skills and knowledge related to the path of achieving entrepreneurial goals. Starting or running a business requires specific abilities that are learned through programs provided by CEO, regardless of academic discipline. Executive Director Dr. Donald Mosley Jr and Zane Patterson founded the chapter currently offered on campus at South Alabama in 2016, with its origins stemming from the Mitchell College of Business. Andrea Prgomeija is the chapter president for the South Alabama campus. She was promoted to this position at the beginning of the academic year after previously holding the responsibilities of treasurer. Local sponsorships from Carpe Diem and Eagle Eyes Painting Company fund the events organized by CEO. Chapter activities held at South Alabama include networking events, guest speakers, access to business conferences, and pitch competitions. These activities take place every Wednesday in the Mitchell College of Business from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. Scott Tendle, recently featured on the entrepreneur TV show “Shark Tank”, delivered a speech giving tips to students looking to jump into the entrepreneur ecosystem available in the Mobile area. John Terzo, 2 current Amazon executive, also visited the South Alabama campus to discuss how Amazon is redefining the supply chain industry. The Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization is a great way for students to learn important skill sets needed to begin the journey into the field of entrepreneurship.
