Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs):
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to
● Integrate knowledge of basic chemistry and major biological molecules to relate structure to cellular function.
● Analyze the central importance of cells (prokaryotic and eukaryotic) as the units of life where complex metabolic
reactions take place.
● Describe the foundations of Mendelian genetics and chromosomal theory and apply these to contemporary concepts
in genetics.
● Apply basic knowledge of the structure and function of nucleic acids to modern biological research.
Discussion Group: Accounts for 10% of your Biology 190 class grade. To receive credit, you must attend the
discussion group for which you signed the contract for. Each discussion group meeting is worth 10 pts. You will receive
no credit for days you are absent. You will be dropped from discussion group after three missed discussions.
How you will earn your daily 10 pts:

-Simply for attending the discussion group for the week.

-Answering and asking questions
-Active listening and interaction in groups
-Respectful to discussion leader and fellow classmates

points: Activity Completion
-Work completed during discussion group
- Work will be graded by the lecture instructor (Jon) for completion and correctness.
