HONORS BIOLOGY II MICROBIOLOGY/GENETICS/IMMUNOLOGY

Biology II is an advanced laboratory, field, and literature investigation-based course. Students enrolled in
Biology II examine in greater depth the structures, functions, and processes of living organisms with a
focus on microorganisms and their interactions with humans from a medical perspective. Students also
analyze and describe the relationship of microorganisms to the world in which they live including
practical experience with specialized equipment and laboratory techniques.





Recommended Grade Level: 9, 10, 11, 12
Recommended Prerequisites: Biology I
Credits: 2 semester course, 1 credit per semester
Counts as an Elective for all diplomas and can serve as a possible Prerequisite for AP Biology
Fulfills a science course requirement for all diplomas
