He is on the editorial boards of two prestigious journals ( Impact factor more than 2) His professional experience of +27 years (inclusive of 11 years overseas experience) of teaching (Post Graduate, PhD, and UG), industrial consulting, applied research, accreditation, administration and corporate training activities covers a very wide and diverse spectrum of industries and institutes. He was professionally associated with Qatar University, Doha, Qatar from 2007 to 2018. He was the main architect of engineering management master level program and later he extended the same toPh.D. level program. He was coordinating engineering management master level and Ph.D. programs, along with contributing towards Industrial and Mechanical engineering areas, College of Engineering, Doha, Qatar. He got many externally funded research projects in the areas of green and lean. Prior to joining Qatar University, from 1990 to 2007, he was associated with National Institute of Industrial Engineering, Mumbai NITIE (an institute of excellence, which initiated as UN project supervised by ILO, Geneva, and started as an arm of IIT Bombay) and was handling training & consultancy portfolio, besides coordinating operations management and supply chain management areas (2005-2007). He was equally active in teaching, training, consulting and guiding in operations management subjects like Strategic quality management, Operations strategies, Service operations, Process Improvement management, Operations and Supply chain management areas. At NITIE he conducted more than 150 training programs for executives from different multinational companies, handled more than 200 master level projects and guided many Ph.Ds. He was also active on professional consultancies front in the areas of Operations and Industrial engineering, Quality and Productivity, Man power assessment, Layout planning, Re-engineering and cycle time reduction. He did more than 24 consultancies for corporates like, Reliance, Asian Paints, E-Merck, Grasim group of Industries, J.K. tools, Hidada group of industries at KSA etc. etc.19 years ago, he introduced process improvement based operations managementand value stream mapping (VSM) based lean through his consultancies, masters’ project/Ph.D. guidance and researches in India. His studies on lean and VSM are among most read and most cited studies. He has Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (1988), Masters in Industrial Engineering & Management (1990), and Doctoral degree (PhD), in Quality and Productivity Management Practices,(1996). Besides this he has BSCM certification from APICS (USA) (2011) and operations excellence and environment management from COSMO oil, patronised by Japanese productivity council Japan(2013). He is the author of ‘Global Management Solutions: Demystified’, 2nd ed., Cengage, Singapore, which has a forward from NandanNilekani of Infosys and Dr Harold Kerzner of PMI, Philadelphia USA. He is also a recipient of highly commended award, 2006 from Emerald UK for his outstanding research. His name is appearing in Marquis’s who’s Who in the world & USA 2007–08 and 2010 personalities.
