“TRUE HYDROGEL absorb, retain and
release cycle enhances the growth of the plants”
What is True Hydrogel
One of the common things between human and plants is
that they both require water and nutrients for their
growth and development. But the following are some of
the factors which can affect the growth and productivity
of plants, fruits, and crops:
Ÿ One of the major problems is drought.
Ÿ Adverse physical and chemical properties of the soil
also affect the plant productivity. Soils may develop
macro-pore space which results in low soil aeration
and further causes low infiltration rates and low water
retention
SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM OF LOW WATER
RETENTION
TRUE HYDROGEL comes to the rescue which acts as a water
retainer. Unlike some other products available which
themselves become hydrated, TRUE HYDROGEL is known to
have a property whereby when it is integrated into the soil it
absorbs a large amount of water and nutrients as well as easily
releases them too thereby providing the plant with the water
and nutrients through its absorption - release cycles.
WHAT IS IT COMPOSED OF?
TRUE HYDROGEL is generally composed of a 3-dimensional
polymer network structure which is a range of superabsorbent
anionic polyacrylamide polymers. Co-polymers of potassium
acrylate and acrylamide are cross-linked and are water soluble.
These become gel on absorbing water and have a capacity of
absorbing distilled water up to 500 times their weight.
HOW TRUE HYDROGEL WORKS?
A network is formed by cross-linking wherein the polymeric
chains in the TRUE HYDROGEL that are parallel to each other and
regularly linked. Through osmosis, the water is drawn into the
molecules as soon as it comes in contact with these chains from
where it rapidly migrates to the inner of the polymer network and
gets stored for later use. These polymers release as much as 95%
of the absorbed water into the soil when the soil dries out.
The water holding and absorption capacity of TRUE HYDROGEL
decrease in an aqueous medium due to the presence of
electrolytes. This influence of salts is the reason for the fact that
its water holding capacity in a substrate varies around 100-150
times its weight.
Depending on the quantity of cross-linking, the polymer network
is modified. This also gives rise to a trade-off between stability
and absorption volume.
More the cross-linking between polymers, tighter is the
network which increases the stability of the polymer but at the
same time reduces its absorption capacity.
Ÿ Alternatively, lesser the cross-linking between the polymers,
looser the network. This leads to increased absorbing capacity
but reduced stability.

Benefits of True Hydrogel
Amazing absorption capacity
Biodegradation
The TRUE HYDROGEL has the ability to absorb and release
the water continuously over a period of several years. It has
a special feature of rewetting itself quickly even when it has
been dehydrated completely.
Protecting the environment by eliminating the problem
of drought and groundwater pollution. Also helps in
saving water as now less amount of water is needed. It is
also biodegradable as it is sensitive to the action of
ultraviolet rays. The UV rays can break the bond and
degrade the polymer into oligomers (molecules of much
smaller size) making it much more sensitive to the
aerobic and anaerobic processes of microbiological
degradation. Therefore, the TRUE HYDROGEL can
degrade naturally in soils (up to 10% - 15% per year
In aqueous medium
The water holding and absorption capacity of TRUE
HYDROGEL decrease in an aqueous medium due to the
presence of electrolytes. This influence of salts is the reason
for the fact that its water holding capacity in a substrate varies
around 100-150 times its weight
TRUE HYDROGEL IN ROOTS
Reduces the effect of leaching
Prevents water and nutrient loss due to leaching. Fertilizers
can be stored in the network for a longer duration thereby
providing the buffering effect on the availability of the
fertilizers.
Delay in the wilting point
The holding capacity of the soil increases and the wilting point
is delayed, thereby reducing the irrigation frequency to as low
as 50%. 2 grams of TRUE HYDROGEL added to 1 kg of sandy
soil increases the water holding capacity of the soil to twice as
compared to the untreated soil
Reduction in labor cost
As the watering frequency is reduced by 30% to 50% due to an
increases water holding capacity of the soil, it reduces the
labor cost and also the amount of water required

FAST FACTS
It helps to control the soil erosion and run off and
decreases soil compaction. This helps in increasing
the infiltration rate of water into the soil thereby
resulting in less erosion of the top soil and less
water runs off. Also, the evaporation from the soil
is reduced. It also provides good aeration and
hence improves the physical properties of the soil

True hydrogel should be mixed with the soil
before sowing the seeds of the bush, plants or
trees.
The soil to which it is being added should not be
wet and it should be mixed with the substrate
before water moistening happens.
Ideal quantity of mixing: 250-300 grams/100
litres of soil (3-4 g per litre) and for a wider area
(as grass or field) the dosage should be 30 g/m2.
Available water at pF4.2 (near-permanent wil ng
point)

How to Use?
Dry Application:
Depending on whether the quantity of soil to be mixed in
is a large or a small amount. For large amounts like for the
backfill around trees and the shrubs use 2-5 kg of True
Hydrogel/m3 or 1 litre of soil. For smaller quantities of soil,
use 5 grams of True Hydrogel for 1 litre of soil. The soil
needs to be thoroughly watered after treating with true
hydrogel. Around 50-150 grams of the True hydrogel can
also be used on new or seeded turf by using sower
machines.
Wet application:
Certain small plants' roots and seedlings can be directly
dipped into the already prepared True Hydrogel before
the plants are actually planted. For this purpose, use 5
grams of True Hydrogel for 1 litre of soil. But make sure
that enough space should be left for planting the plant in
the pot or hole as obviously the dry granules when added
into water swell up to a size much more than their original
size, therefore, keeping a margin of 15% to 20% is a must.
Broadcast Application:
For broadcast application, the True Hydrogel is properly
mixed and incorporated in the soil at a recommended
depth of 4 to 6 inches i.e. 10 to 15 cm before sowing or
planting the seed or during fertilizer application. It can be
blended with organic fertilizer with a manure spreader or
with dry bulk fertilizer with a fertilizer spreader.
Banded Application:
Using a starter fertilizer row bander True Hydrogel is
applied in the crop or plant furrows alone or blended with
dry bulk fertilizer or seed by using side-dress application
equipment. It can also be blended with liquid starter
fertilizer. Grain drill can also be used in place of row bander
but only in low relative humidity environment. Apart from
using single operation machines, the True hydrogel can
also be applied using combined planters and tillage
equipment.
Greenhouse Application:
Method of use:
Mix the true hydrogel into the plant media at a
concentration of 1 to 3 g/l or 1 to 3 kg/m3 of the
substrate before planting. Irrigation is required
immediately after the planting is done in the
container till the soil gets saturated.
Ÿ
Ÿ
Application at Transplant:
In this, the true hydrogel is mixed with the soil
extract or plant substrate. Depending on the
root volume, climatic conditions, transplant
height, species the application rate varies from
3 to 40 grams dry granules per tree or shrub
transplant.
If it is to be done at an individual level,
contacting an agronomic technical
representative is advised.

Ÿ
It is applied in phases and is
recommended to apply 1/3 of the
dosage directly into the planting
hole and the remaining 2/3 is
mixed with the fill material.
Some part of the soil is left
untreated for the final coverage
of the soil.
The fills material is packed tightly.
The transplants are irrigated until
the soil saturates.
4
Using PRE-HYDRATED TRUE HYDROGEL:
It is made by adding true hydrogel to water followed by continuous and
slow stirring. It can also be added to a stream of water while filling the
nurse tank. It is left to swell for about 30 minutes time when the gel is
made and ready to use
planting hole and the remaining 2/3 is mixed with the fill material.

Penetrates the hard soils with the help of a jackhammer mechanism
specifically at depths ranging from 6 to 48 inches (15 – 120 cm) without
damaging the roots. Then the air is pressurized into the soil using the
injector pulse which helps to create cracks and free space. And then
finally, the hydrogel is injected into these newly created spaces.
APPLICATION
Agriculture
It provides good aeration to the soil thereby helping especially at the time
of germination and development of root network. It is very effective in
large-scale farming. Its water storage capacity helps in delaying the
wilting point of the soil. It ensures multiplication and growth of plants
even in preamble soil.
When mixed with substrate it helps in reducing the stress of water. It
ensures a faster growth of seedlings and a better binding of transplants
and cuttings with the root. The frequency of irrigation reduces.
It is ideal for hanging plants, houseplants, and containers with the
substrate. It has to be mixed evenly into the substrate and the amount
to be added depends on the type of the substrate, water requirements,
weather conditions, and the characteristics of the plants and
cultivation. It basically depends on the how preamble the substrate is:
More preamble, more is the true hydrogel required. .
Arboriculture
True hydrogel helps in decreasing the rate of mortality of the plant which
can happen due to the shocks during transplanting and helps in root
development thereby resulting in faster growth.
Method to use:
Ÿ
Ÿ
Ÿ
Check as to how preamble the substrate is.
If the substrate is more preamble in nature, made of wood fibre,
bark or coconut-residue, then the recommended amount of true
hydrogel to be added is 2 - 3 kg/m3.
If the substrate is less permeable, such as peat or composts, the
recommended amount of hydrogel to be added ranges from 1 to 2
kg/m3.
Method to use:
Ÿ
Ÿ
Ÿ
Ÿ
Mixing with Fertilizers
if mixed dry during the fertilizer preparation and in fact when the
fertilizers are manufactured, it helps in reducing the leaching and
therefore protecting the environment. As a result of this, the plants
become more capable of maintaining or even increasing the yield and
also lead to better development of the roots of the plants. Not only
this, even the quantity of fertilizers required is reduced by 15% to 30%.
Ÿ
A hole is dug for placing the roots which is about 3 times the roots'
total volume.
1 to 2 kg of TRUE HYDROGEL per m3 is mixed evenly into the soil of
the fill. Some amount of the soil should be left untreated.
Place the roots of the plant next to the base of the dugout which is
dug and is filled with the soil that is treated to ensure that there is an
even distribution of the true hydrogel surrounding the roots.
To stop deterioration of the true hydrogel by the UV rays and also to
prevent the water to stagnate on the horizontal surface, take 5 cm of
the untreated soil and cover the surface.
Take care not to place any kind of a dry product which is not mixed
well as it will make the plant loose its stability.
5
Animal Litter
TRUE HYDROGEL products can also be used as an additive in drying feed
litters used in breeding farms to replace the old generation of phosphate
based-litters. This new generation of animal drying litter has many
benefits:
Ÿ A better comfort for the animals due to a dryer bedding environment.
Ÿ A reduction of the odors.
Ÿ
An improvement of the fertilizing value of manure due to a better
fixation of ammonia.
Ÿ A better respect of the environment as it is a phosphate-free product.
Hydroseeding
Hydroseeding used TRUE HYDROGEL as it helps in stabilizing the soils
which are newly graded. It can be mixed with cellulose mulch or can be used
alone to help uphold a minimum required level of the water on to the
surface. If this is the case then even in the dry areas there will be a faster
sprouting of the seedlings. It leads to the development of a faster and a
uniform vegetation cover.
Transporting Cut Flowers
TRUE HYDROGEL in a gel form can be kept in taped up plastic pouches and
left to freeze. The frozen gel can be used to transport the plant products
which are heat-sensitive like the cut flowers as the TRUE HYDROGEL has
great resistance to high temperature shock.
TRUE HYDROGEL - Yeilding
Horticulture
By using TRUE HYDROGEL, the substrate's field capacity increases thereby
causing a delay in the wilting point. As the watering frequency is reduced by
30% to 50% due to an increases water holding capacity of the soil, it reduces
the labor cost and also the amount of water required.
Bare Root Dipping
Root dipping helps to stop the roots of the seedlings to get extremely dried
while they are transplanted or transported over long distances. The True
hydrogel can be used as a mixture of this dipping activity.
In the Sod and Lawns
can be used throughout in the sod and lawns to endure faster development
of the roots, good germination, and the overall growth of the lawns. The
TRUE HYDROGEL is used to treat the grass in the parks and the garden and
also in the golf courses.
Method to use:
Ÿ Level the soil where the grass is to be planted.
Ÿ Use a fertilizer spreader to evenly distribute the True hydrogel on the
soil.
Ÿ
Ÿ
Ÿ
Insert it to a depth of 10 cm using spade or by using a rototiller or a disk
plow.
After this spread the sod and to make the soil compact, roll it. You an
also use extra fertilizers if you feel it is required.
