Can live Low Voltage work be done safely, if not contact supervisor Can all live and earthed conductors be temporarily insulated safely To Prevent electrical hazards Inspect all mats and covers for cleanliness, cracks or other defects If mats or covers are found to be defective remove from service immediately Inspect rubber gloves for holes and splits as per safety training If gloves deemed to be unserviceable after test DO NOT USE To Ensure safety to workers Ensure appropriate rescue kits are serviceable and all contents lists are complete. Working live from EWP Ensure the EWP electrical test is current and in date 2 Preparation Ensure emergency descent devices are functional and in a serviceable condition Working live from a ladder Ensure the pole top rescue kit has in date size 11 gloves, an orange rescue belt, cross arm straps and slings, and a serviceable rescue rope Ensure rescue kit is placed in an accessible position close to work area Working live on ground Ensure Low Voltage release and rescue kit has a serviceable rescue crook, a working shaker torch or batteries for other torch, and in date size 11 rubber gloves Ensure rescue kit is placed in an accessible position close to ladder If any rescue kits are defective or missing equipment REMOVE from service and do not proceed with live Low Voltage work till a replacement kit is sourced. p2 Version 0 As at 11th April 2011 Uncontrolled when printed Lend Lease’s infrastructure services business PCT-TM-601A - Safe Work Instruction 0600 - Safety Management Safe Work Instructions Working Live Low Voltage Field Instruction 3 Installing and removing temporary Low Voltage mats and covers Refer and follow SWI- 2 Installing and removal of Temporary Low Voltage Insulators ENSURE CORRECT P.P.E IS WORN AT ALL TIMES All communication cables i.e. Optus and Foxtel are at earthed potential and are to be treated as live conductors To Prevent electrical hazards 4 p3 Working live Low Voltage Version 0 As at 11th April 2011 Ensure that every conductor within your reach is insulated in all directions from the point nearest your body. The reach includes your extended reach with tools or equipment you may be using. Constantly inspect mats and covers to ensure that they have not moved and are still sufficiently covering the Conductors When working together confine the work to the same phase or keep at least 500mm away from each other and do not pass conductive material to one another Beware of communications cable and catenary wires as these conductors are to be treated as earth potential cables. When working on switchboards or live mains with exposed metal work it may be necessary to temporarily insulate earthed metal work and stand on an insulating mat Insulated tools are not to be classed as insulated only covered Uncontrolled when printed
