Resume Assignment
Part 1:
●
Using the notes and our discussion in class, prepare a resume using a format that suits your
needs and experience.
●
Have a reliable person proofread your resume very carefully (after you proofread the resume
yourself). Submit the Peer Editing Checklist and a first draft of your resume to Ms Ansell on
Monday October 21.
●
After your rough draft has been given back, edit your rough copy, type a good copy of your
resume using the Resume Builder on myBlueprint. Pay attention to format, choice of words and
presentation (margins, bullets, etc).
Part 2:
●
Prepare a separate list of three references for your job search process. (Assume you are really
looking for a job, and will be handing this sheet to prospective employers as needed during the hiring
process).
●
Make sure you include all relevant contact information (i.e. phone number and address is
mandatory, also email addresses if available).
●
You should also include information concerning how long the reference knows you and the
nature of their relationship with you (i.e. former boss, coach, teacher, etc).
Your References should be:
○
typed
○
organized
○
professional looking (use bullets, etc)
