Alternative Energy Project Overview: You will be completing a project on an alternate source of energy (not a fossil fuel). You can complete this project either individually or as a group. You may choose one of the options below to complete your project. Your energy source and project choice must be approved by me. You will have 2 weeks to complete the project. When the project is complete you will present it to the class. Your project must be turned into me by the end of class on October 25th. Presentations will be done on Oct. 28th and 29th if necessary. PowerPoint: You will make a PowerPoint presentation about your alternative energy source using the criteria below Paper (Essay): You will write an essay about your alternative energy source using the criteria below Video: You will make a video about your alternative energy source using the criteria below Song: You will make a song about your alternative energy source using the criteria below Poster: You will make a poster about your alternative energy source using the criteria below Brochure: You will make a brochure about your alternative energy source using the criteria below Criteria: Use the following guidelines to complete this project All projects must contain the following… 1. What are the disadvantages of this source of energy? 6. How much does it cost to produce energy from this source? 7. Where would this source be most effective? 8. How much does it cost to implement this source of energy? 9. How efficient is this source of energy? 10. Any information unique to your source of energy 11. At least 8 sources of information included somewhere in the project Your Choice: You will choose a way to tell the class about your alternative energy source Project Specific Criteria: PowerPoint: Your PowerPoint must contain at least 12 slides. 10 of them for the criteria for all projects, 1 title slide, and 1 sources slide. I expect the PowerPoint to contain pictures as well as words. Video: Your video must be at least 3 minutes in length but cannot exceed 15 minutes in length. You must address all criteria in the video. The video should be creative and very engaging to watch. There will be absolutely no profanity, inappropriate jokes or references, or any other graphic material allowed in your video. Including any such material will result in a 0 on the project and other possible consequences. You must provide your sources of information in a separate document that will be turned in with your video. However, you may include your sources of information in the video if you wish. Song: Your song must be at least 3 minutes in length but cannot exceed 6 minutes in length. You must address all criteria in the song. The song should be creative and pleasant to listen too. There will be absolutely no profanity, inappropriate jokes or references, or any other graphic material allowed in your song. Including any such material will result in a 0 on the project and other possible consequences. You must provide your sources of information in a separate document that will be turned in with your song. Paper (Essay): Your paper should be between 2-5 pages in length. Your paper should include all the criteria. Your paper must also include a reference section at the end of your paper. Poster: Your poster should address all the criteria. It should look well made and be creative. I expect it to contain pictures as well as text.
