Erika just discovered her husband having relations
with another woman. In response, Erika picked up
a kettle of boiling water and threw it on her
husband, burning him badly.
Case Study II
John does not like buttons. When he was a child,
his mother accidently pinched him with a button
while buttoning up his coat, and ever since, John
does not like wearing any clothing that has
buttons. He claims that buttons make him feel
“disgusted” and the idea of touching a button is
repulsive to him.
Case Study III
Anne wakes up everyday at 6AM, drinks coffee,
and goes to work. She has done this five times a
week for the last ten years. When asked, Ann
describes her job as boring and unsatisfying.
