room parents and school volunteers. This resource
can be sent home at the beginning of the year or
given to families at “Meet the Teacher Night” and Open
House.

Thank you so much for your interest in becoming a room
parent and/or a volunteer at our school this year! We are
looking forward to partnering with you in order to better
support our children, classrooms, and teachers! Our families
have always been such an incredible resource, and we’re
looking forward to another amazing year!
If you are interested in becoming a room parent in your
child’s room or volunteering in the school, please refer to this
packet for information on the steps to take.

While room parent responsibilities may look different room
to room as different classrooms have different needs, below
are some general responsibilities typical room parents take on!
Once your classroom teacher contacts you over becoming a
room parent, you two will sit down and discuss the class’
needs for the year.
Plan and organize classroom celebrations (holidays,
rewards, celebrations, field trips)
Contact families to gather donations for celebrations and/
or learning projects
Be present and available for school wide events
(fundraisers, events, concerts)
Volunteers
Depending on your interest and availability (shown on the
application) the office or your classroom teacher will contact
you when an event or need arises! Thank you for your
willingness to serve this year!
