INTRODUCTION
1.
Engine Test Bed is a facility used to develop, characterize and test engines. It’s
allows engine operation regimes and offers measurement of several physical variables
associated with the engine operation.
2.
BNSY have this facility but due to some constraints it has not been operate for
sometimes and last operated in year 2015. There have 3 test bed provided in Loc 34.

SURVEY FINDINGS
3. All main components were inspected thoroughly with the following observation:
a. Preheater.
(1) No irregularity, crack, burn mark and significant deterioration sign at
electrical components and cables were found as per pic. 1 and 2.
(2) Actual preheater condition unknown as the item was not running for
few years.
(3) The wiring still intact and highly recommend to continuity and insulation
check for ensure cable condition. The control panel require servicing
and replace all damaged components.

(2) The compressor capable to running during survey, however the actual
performance not measured. As the system capable to running, it
indicates the control panel and motor are functioning well.
(3) The wiring was intact and highly recommend doing continuity and
insulation testing for ensure cable condition. The control panel and
motor require servicing and carry out functional test with associate
equipment.

c. Deluge Water Pump No. 1 Control Panel.
(1) No irregularity, crack, burn mark and significant deterioration sign at
electrical components, internal wiring was found as per pic. 5 and 6.
The control panel had been renewed by The Yard Service Department.
(2) The control panel seen in good condition upon visual checking process.
However, the system was not running due to the motor in bad
condition. The cables from panel to motors was found out heavily
deteriorated cause by wet and salty environment.
(3) Recommendation is to service the control panel and carry out
functional test upon completion.

d. Deluge Water Pump Motor (2 in no).
(1) The motors and motor foundation were in heavily corroded condition
due to aging, wet and salty environment as per pic. 7,8,9 and 10. The
power cables from control panel to motors also affected and need
replacement.
(2) We recommend both motors, foundations and all cables to be renew.

f. Fuel Transfer System from Storage Tank to Header Tank.
(1) Fuel transfer system consist of 3 in no of motors, 2 in no of control
panels and 2 in no float switches. As per visual inspection on the
system, deteriorated sign can be found as per Pic. 13,14,15 and 16.
(2) The actual condition of the system was undetermined because the
system not functioning. The deteriorated sign at motors were barely
sees due to the equipment already being painted. Float switches not
functioning and all the cable need replacement.
(3) Base on this survey, the recommendation is to renew all the motors,
Control Panel, sensors and cables.

g. Sea Water System at Pump House.
(1) Sea water system consist of 2 in no of motors, 1 in nos of control
panels. As per visual inspection, no significant defect and deteriorated
sign were found on side as per picture 17,18,19 and 20.
(2) The actual condition of the system was undetermined because the
system not running, and the last service done at 2012 as been told by
yard service personal. No actual service record had been seen to prove
the service had been done. The deteriorated sign at motors were
barely sees due to the equipment already being painted. No burn mark
on control panel component. However, the actual condition of
components was undetermined.
(3) Base on this survey, the recommendation is to service all the motors,
and Control Panel.
