Non-Sworn Instructor Access Request

advertisement
The TASER Instructor Course was developed and intended for law enforcement and correctional use.
However, we recognize that there is a need for TASER® Conducted Electrical Weapon (CEW) training in
constable positions, professional security and bond recovery firms, as well as other professional
organizations that work in a law enforcement support role.
To be considered for enrollment in a TASER Instructor course, the following information must be provided:
1. A written request that must include the reason you would like to obtain an instructor certification on
TASER CEWs.
2. Your company information along with website address and licenses.
3. The request must be in writing and emailed on company letterhead to training@taser.com.
4. The letter must include a CLEAR copy of the agency license and state issued photo identification along
with specific email addresses for each person.
5. The letter must include the following statement with signature of company officer or director:
“I understand that this TASER Instructor Certification course will allow those individuals being
trained to instruct within our own company for our own employees. We understand and agree that
the individuals attending the TASER training course on behalf of our company are not permitted to
train individuals who are not employed directly by our company without the prior written
authorization of TASER International.”
Upon successful completion of the TASER training course, the attendee will receive a TASER Professional
Security Instructor Certificate. The TASER Professional Security Instructor Certificate will contain the
following conditions and limitations:
a. The TASER Professional Security Instructor Certificate is valid for 2 years from the date of issue
b. The instructor is certified to teach non-sworn security personnel or bail recovery agents only. They
are not authorized to train sworn law enforcement officers.
c. The instructor is responsible for knowing the legal limits for use of TASER CEWs by non-sworn
persons, security and bail recovery personnel in all states in which they are instructing. The TASER
Instructor course does not address these laws. It is the instructor’s responsibility to research the
laws and pass that information on in their courses.
d. The instructor understands that the TASER Instructor course is not intended to teach tactics, merely
how the CEWs work and recommendations on the best performance of the CEW.
e. The instructor recognizes they may not conduct any training for any monetary profit or gain.
