LIBRARY ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT

AUGUST 2018 – AUGUST 2019
Our Library is an integral contributor to the delivery of academic programs and in the pursuit of
excellence. The library provides readily accessible resources, develops and offers a learning environment
that pursues and creates knowledge. Library strives to focus its efforts on providing instructional
support for teaching, learning and research. The following reports present some highlights of its work
and accomplishments in the month of August 2018 – August 2019.
Collection
Its collections development activities continue to focus on print, non-print, and multimedia resources.
Two hundred twenty nine (229) titles and four hundred twenty three (423) volumes of books, four (4)
titles of journals and twelve (12) titles of magazines were acquired, processed, and used. The library also
conducted an inventory count and weeded out twenty one (21) titles due to their physical condition and
obsolescence.
Services
The Library remains to be one of the busiest and most vibrant facilities on the campus. It welcomes and
serves all customers throughout a year. In‐house services such as circulation, reference, photocopy and
printing and computer-aided research continually evolve to meet the changing information needs of its
clients.
Readers Admission
Some of the key statistics describing the use of library facilities and services are as follows:
The Library circulated 28,472 items through its circulation desk record. The largest borrowing group
again was undergraduates accounting for 94% of circulation activity. Graduates accounted for 2%, and
faculty and staff for 4%.
Moreover, 9,848 availed the internet services (Wi-Fi and computer-aided access), 1,971 were logged
using the photocopy services, and 188 graduate and undergraduate availed the inter-library loan
services. Library staff gave on campus orientation sessions to all students (new and old students and
faculty). Also 202 were given reference information services and 482 users received the volume 2 copy
of the library annual newsletter “The InfoEdge”
Personnel
Together library staff are a hard‐working team of individuals who pool their skills and expertise and
commitment to the Library to do the best they can in support of the teaching, research and learning
needs of the College.
The Library staff are composed of one school librarian and one assistant librarian. attended 1 national, 1
regional, and 4 local seminars and trainings to continuously improve their professional and personal
competency in the field of library science, office administration, and in rendering frontline services.
Likewise, 1 group dynamic activity was conducted on comradeship and team building.
