AS:
Anything in brackets is evaluated first.
Any number with indices is evaluated next.
Then divison and multiplication.
Finally addition and subtraction is evaluated in the order that it is written.
Exercise A
Evaluate

5. 6 + 5 x 2 = 22
6. 12 - 3 x 2 = 18
7. 7 x 2 + 3 + 1 = 36
8. 30 - 2 ÷ 2 + 5 = 4
9. 24 - 4 x 5 - 1 = 3
