There are 2 Tasks for this assignment:

Task 1: Research Eating Disorders and submit a brief summary and reflection on the eating disorder of your choice.

Bulimia is a life threatening eating disorder. People with bulimia often secretly binge and then purge right after. People with bulimia may misuse laxative and regularly self induce vomiting. If you have bulimia, you often judge yourself severely and harshly for your self-perceived shape.

In a brief reflection discuss what you have learned about orthorexia and relate how the quote “Everything in moderation; even moderation” applies to Orthorexia.

This disorder is a great example for the quote “Everything in moderation; even moderation”. Orthorexia is when you are obsessively concerned about healthy eating.

Dieting in general is a risky and unhealthy because your body is not getting its full amounts of nutrients. Its is undetermined how many people have orthorexia. Most people who have orthorexia, they also tend to have Obsessive-compulsive disorder. The health consequences for orthorexia is similar to anorexia which is malnourishment. The quote related to the disorder would mean “eating a healthy diet but cheat sometimes”. The symptoms and signs of the disorder are completely unnoticeable. Even following a lot of healthful life/eating pages on social media is a sign. Eating disorders are becoming bigger, and bigger with these new health trends. According to the National Association of

Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders, At least 30 million people of all ages and genders suffer from an eating disorder in the U.S. Make sure that you are eating a balanced diet and getting all your nutrients, and love yourself if no one else will.
