What am I?
Identifying items as living or non-living is an important life science skill. Students must
distinguish what a living organism is, so they can then identify what these organisms need in
order to survive. Through the use this game “What am I?” students will enrich their knowledge
by identifying and naming some characteristics of Living things and to differentiate between
Living and Non-Living things.
The Learning Outcome that would be used in connection with this game is:
 3.4 Name the characteristics of all living things and cite examples of how these are
shown in local organisms (i.e.) how plants and animals grow, reproduce, respire, move,
and respond to stimuli, excrete, circulate fluids, obtain food)
How to play:
1. Two or more (30) students can play at a time.
2. Each player will be given a “What am I?” Game card, face down. Then provided with a piece
of tape the student will paste the card face up on their back or forehead.
3. Students will walk around, mixing with other students and asking the others questions to try to
guess what they are. The students can ask up to 5 questions.
eg: Am I living or Non-Living?
Can I move on my own?
4. The others student, can only answer YES or NO to each question.
5. If the student can guess the word on the card, they must remove the card from their back or
forehead and touch down.
6. If they cannot guess what they are, they continue to ask other students to answer their
questions.
7. The game ends when all students have guessed what they are.
A to Z Noun Game
Nouns are basically, the building foundation of our language. Nouns are used every day to label
people, places, things, animals, objects, and concepts. Nouns are essential in sentences as it
refers to the subject and object of a sentence, without nouns sentences would make no sense.
This A to Z Noun Game would help students to identify what are nouns, list examples of nouns
and also to use them orally in sentences, which would also aid them in writing sentences of their
own.
The learning outcome associated with is game is:
 44.6 Construct simple noun-verb-noun sentences correctly in original writing.

26 Flash cards, each contain 1 letter of the alphabet
8 Flash cards with the term ‘person’
6 Flash cards with the term ‘animal’
6 Flash cards with the term ‘place’
5 Flash cards with the term ‘thing’
How to play:
1. Two to 6 players may play at a time.
2. Both the pink flash cards and the green flash cards must be place face downward in a
stack.
3. Each player will take turns, starting from the smallest to the biggest player, to draw a card
from both stacks of flash cards.
4. The player the will turn over both cards drawn and name a noun starting with the
provided Alphabet letter and kind of noun.
eg: A person- Azra ( name of a person starting with the letter A

animal- cat (name of an animal starting with the letter A
5. If the player can successfully name a noun with the provided Alphabet letter and the kind
of noun, the player gets to keep both cards.
6. However, if the player cannot name a correct/appropriate noun with both given cards,
then the cards must be returned to the bottom of their corresponding stack.
7. Then the next players gets to have a go and so on.
8. The player with the most cards wins the game.
