To be able to solve problems on simple financial transactions involving interest on
money borrowed or deposited
Love
-Interest, Rate, Per Annum, Principal Amount, Time Tenure
-Formulae: Simple Interest = PRT/100. Principal = SI ×100/RT
Rate = SI×100/PT. Time = SI ×100/PR
-To calculate simple interest, unit of time should be same as rate for example if
rate is given per annum, time should be in years
Role play: A borrower will take information about availing a loan of certain
amount from bank and the banker will describe repayment terms to the borrower
With the help of activity teacher will introduce with the key terms involved in the
calculation of interest.
Teacher will explain how to manipulate the formulae I=PRT/100
Teacher will solve a question from exercise and point out points to remember and
clarify common misconceptions.
In groups learners will solve the questions assigned by the teacher.
