CIRCLE 3 skills that you want to achieve by the end of the lesson
(aim to challenge yourself)
What
we are learning?
• Be able to perform simple functions and formulae
• Be able to create suitable charts
• Be able to apply advanced formatting
How
we are learning it?
• By creating a spreadsheet
Must:
Include suitable formatting
Should: Include formulae to calculate figures
Could: Include basic functions (min, max, average)
Why
we are learning it?
•
To be able to use spreadsheets to calculate and store numerical data
Scenario
• You are going to create a spreadsheet to show
the sales of BMW vehicles for last year.
• You need:
– to design the spreadsheet
– Calculate the costs using formulae
– Produce charts
Task 1 – 20 mins

Formulae
Formulae in Excel works like a calculator. It can
perform basic mathematical calculations quickly
and easily.
“You don’t need to get your calculator out”
Example: =B2*14
Task 3 – 15 mins
• Using functions, work out the minimum,
maximum and average car sales for each
month.
=min
=max
=average
