Due Wednesday, June 8, 2016 Late projects will NOT be accepted! Objectives: Summarize, illustrate, compare and contrast vocabulary words. You are to prepare a booklet to define, illustrate and explain 50 key vocabulary words for a 7 th grade math student. Please follow the following guidelines as you complete the project. NO TYPED PROJECTS WILL BE ACCEPTED – this assignment is to be completed by the student! Guidelines 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Title page decorated and including student name. Use note cards, copy paper or construction paper. Maximum 2 vocabulary words per sheet, or 1 vocabulary word per note card. Do not write on the back of the paper/index card. Use pens, pencils, colored pencils, markers and crayons. Instructions for each vocabulary word: *Number Each Vocabulary Word “1-50” *Definition -Write the word AND definition for each vocabulary word on the list. -You may use the textbook, dictionary or internet to research a term, but you must write the definition on the paper. *Illustration -Draw a picture or give a numeric example of the word. *Real Life Examples -List 2 real life examples. (Ratio – 12:16, there are 12 girls for every 16 boys in class) *Non-Related Words -List 2 math words that are not related to the word Example – 1. Perimeter – The distance around a polygon Draw a picture of a fence in a backyard Real Life Examples – Brick outlining a garden, Border on a bulletin board Non-Related Words – Ratio, Percent Rubric 400 total points!
