COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is geared to provide students with foundational knowledge of English for
Specifics Purposes (ESP). Pedagogically speaking, it will engage students in practical
experiences in the design of ESP courses. Thus, students will learn both theoretical and
practical knowledge of ESP that prepare them for ESP professionals or teachers in
educational contexts where they will work with diverse groups of learners who learn
different areas of study.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
At the end of the semester, students are able to
a. To reach comprehensive understanding of theories and concept of ESP
b. To identify classifications of ESP course designs
c. To be aware on English Language Program for specific needs
d. To design ESP courses by interpreting the raw data gained in the process of need
analysis
