I believe that John Brown was a murderer because he had taken people captive and murdered an entire family. An example of this is in Robert E. Lee’s report from Harpers Ferry when he had stated that John Brown’s group had carried ten prisoners for their escape from raiding Harper ferry’s Armory. The Raiding party had mortally wounded one marine and injured several others while they were trying to save hostages that the party had taken. John Brown’s raiding party had consisted of Nineteen men fifteen of which were white and five of which were black. He was also a criminal because he murdered a family. He had also taken part in bleeding Kansas and this where he killed the family and probably more people too. In a testimony of a John D. Starry he explains that he had seen John Brown’s party and had also seen someone they had shot dead and they had severely injured some of the Berkley men who were acting as military and a civilian named Edward McCabe.
