The following discipline procedures will be used in class! 1. Enter the classroom on time and sit down quietly. If the teacher is not yet in, give 5 minutes leeway then let the class rep or president call him/her. 2. Follow all instructions given by teacher. 3. Raise your hand to speak and to leave your seat if you wished to be excused for an urgent/important matter. 4. No electronic devices of any kind:cell phone, I-pods, mp3, etc. (except when used for educational purposes as instructed by teacher.) 5. Homework / Quiz passes Being Prepared Bring required materials each day, pencils, pens and notebooks. It is your job to keep your class folder updated and organized. Writing Utensils Students may use a pencil or a pen (blue or black ink) Blue or black ink should be used for formal writing assignments. When doing peer checking, red may be allowed by the teacher. Ask permission prior. For class written tasks, the teacher will distribute a uniform, standard lined paper. Typed or computer generated work will be accepted with prior approval of the teacher during formal written projects (announced prior). A. B. C. Entering Class After entering the room, students may not leave without permission. Upon entering, students should go to their assigned seats and prepare for class until the bell rings. After the bell rings students should listen for teacher instruction and begin working. A. B. C. D. Exiting Class The teacher will dismiss the class Not The Bell. Do not pack books to exit class until instructed to do so by the teacher. Students are responsible for cleaning the area around their desks before leaving the room. You can do this with a colored paper or other divider or make your own personalized borders/ dividers. Name the first section classwork; the second reading comprehension, the third vocabulary and the fourth grammar and composition . The assigned classwork, writing assignments and test will be graded. 3. 4. Also, you will receive a grade for the contents of your folder before progress reports and at the end of the quarter. The grades for the folder count as participation marks (40%). Handing Out and Collecting Class Folders. • At the beginning of each class an assigned student will hand out the class folders. • When instructed by the teacher towards end of class, pass the folder to the student in front of you. If your lead breaks during class and if your have no other writing utensil, raise your hand and wait for further instructions. a. b. Trash Trash may be thrown away when your are dismissed from class. Keep it at your desk until you are dismissed. Pick up all paper around your desk before leaving the room. A. B. C. D. Students are expected to walk with proper decorum and in a bit of haste due to the limited space in the hallways. If you violate rule 2 above, your things will disappear and never to be seen again the next day.
