SEL offers best-in-class accessories to optimize efficiency and utilization of your recloser controls. Many accessories can either be factory-installed or supplied as a field upgrade kit.
Reduce system event analysis time with precisely aligned events from both distribution and substation devices. SCADA-based distributed time commonly provides accuracy only to seconds, and recloser controls time-stamp event data to the millisecond based on low-accuracy SCADA time. As a result, events among multiple devices cannot be compared. Use the SEL-2401, which has
± 100 nanosecond time accuracy, to provide precise event time synchronization.
Protect Personnel and Equipment
Wirelessly control and monitor the SEL-351R from a safe distance to avoid exposing personnel to hazardous conditions. Keep enclosure and control house doors shut to protect equipment from weather and contaminants.
Apply Easily With Low Impact and Cost
Connect to the 802.11b wireless interface in your laptop or handheld PC. Install SEL PC software to add a virtual serial port with NIST-approved encryption and authentication for your existing application or communications software.
Find Faults Faster
SEL fault indicators reduce fault-finding time by as much as 50 percent, helping to restore power more quickly and efficiently. They also help reduce costly damage to the power system by eliminating the need to use multiple fuses to “re-fuse and sectionalize” during fault locating.
Recloser Controls and Fault Indicators Work
Together
SEL fault indicators and recloser controls together can pinpoint the exact fault location even on lateral feeds, something neither product can do on its own. When a fault occurs, the SEL recloser control reports the distance from the recloser to the fault; however, for lines with branches, it cannot determine on which branch the fault occurred. By following the line along the tripped fault indicators, a line crew can easily find the fault area.

Simplify Panel-Mounted Metering

SEL-351R metered quantities include phase voltages and currents (including demand), sequence voltages and currents, power, frequency, and energy along with maximum/minimum logging of selected quantities.
