Bésame mucho- Spanish activity- Unjumble lyrics and translation The lesson can be used from ages 14 – 19 and could easily last a whole lesson. Stage 1 Prior to lesson guillotine the lyrics from page 3 into individual strips. Without pre-teaching any vocab, let the students listen to the song twice through without stopping the tape. The object is to put the lyrics in order. Check the students got the order right. Stage 2 Give the students a copy of the lyrics from page 2. If the students are A level you may not want to give them the vocabulary glossary. Ask the students to highlight use of the subjunctive, conditional, present, furture and imperative by placing an S, C, P or I on their document. Feedback and check their responses are correct. Stage 3 Students complete a full translation of the text. Stage 4 Check the accuracy of the translation and discuss the song and use of grammatical constructs. Various versions of the song are available online. Here are a couple of versions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_6Q8Nj8bbA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mGk84EITfs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSO9P8LgC-o If the above links go dead just google “Bésame mucho in Spanish/ en español” Notes: Page 3 Lyrics jumble and vocab cards work best if laminated so can be resused. Store in envelopes or use elastic bands and get students to pack them away at the end. Or possibly print in different colours to avoid mixing up 😉 Page 4 has vocab cards that can be laminated and given out to each group after the lyrics have been unjumbled. Use this resource as appropriate depending on level. Page 2 can be printed out as single sheet to use for stage 3 and 4. Adapt resource to suit level. It could very easily be used in KS3 as well. 1 Bésame mucho Bésame,bésame mucho Como si fuera esta noche la última vez Bésame, bésame mucho que tengo miedo perderte, perderte después.
