Dogs have 39 pairs = 78 total
Haploid Number = half a set of chromosomes
(ie. just mom’s DNA)
• Sperm & eggs are haploid cells (23 in each)
(when they come together – they make a complete set)
Diploid Number = full set of chromosomes (46 in each)

All other cells (other than sex cells) are diploid cells
