UNIVERSITY OF DAR ES SALAAM College of Information and Communication Technologies PROFESSIONAL INTERN EXPERIENCE INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.(PIEIMS) Mapendo Fidelis & Mhondo Hellen Supervisor: Mr. Masoud Mahundi e-mail: mapendofidelis@gmail.com Department of Computer Science and Engineering, CoICT, UDSM Introduction The aim of the project is to design and implement a Web based PIEIMS which will provide a platform for students/youths to find employment experience through internships placements with mentorship by connecting and being coached by the professionals, based on aspect of their interest and skill set. It will create youths who are flexible to take initiative and have the ability to undertake a variety of tasks due to the fact that the labor market is intensely competitive while also generating youths who are more employable and can employ themselves. Project Objectives The main objective of this project is to design a web based System which helps students/youths to find employment experience through internships with mentorship by connecting with the professionals based aspect of interest and skill set . Specific Objectives Specific Objective2 To design system as per RSD PIEMIS Web Application Design to sow System Integration wit users Specific Objective 3 To implement system design. Methodology ❑ Conception of the problem and idea development ❑ Feasibility study ❑ Gathering the requirements for the system to be developed ❑ Designing the system database. ❑ Designing the System User Interface. ❑ Implementation of the system. ❑ Testing the system. Specific Objective 1 Requirement analysis How it Works? ❑ The students and professionals register to the system, get verified and are registered as system users. ❑ The system users can now update their profiles with all the necessary details, and all the information is stored into the system. ❑ The students then request for internships that have been uploaded by the professionals and professionals respond back to the requests. The requests and responses are done through email notifications. ❑ Once the students get approved by the professional ,the two can communicate through the system’s chat room and agree on further communication and working. ❑ After the agreed projects are completed the professional can rate the student depending on the performance and vice versa.
