Parts of a Wave Task:
1. Draw a horizontal line the length of the desk.
(This is the medium, or matter, through which the wave will travel).
2. Using the string, create waves with at least 2
crests, starting on the medium line.
3. Using the markers, label the following:
*crest
*trough
*wavelength
*amplitude
Evaluate:
Walk around the room & look at the waves created by
your classmates and consider the following:
If the length of the desk represents 1 second, did you
create high frequency or low frequency waves?
How are wavelength and frequency related?
