Attention​ ​students​ ​who​ ​use​ ​personal​ ​laptops​ ​on​ ​campus:
Cox​ ​Mill​ ​High​ ​School​ ​has​ ​recently​ ​eliminated​ ​the​ ​guest​ ​Wi-Fi​ ​network​ ​due​ ​to​ ​congestion​ ​and​ ​school​ ​devices​ ​not
being​ ​able​ ​to​ ​access​ ​the​ ​internet.​ ​For​ ​the​ ​Spring​ ​2017​ ​semester,​ ​we​ ​are​ ​allowing​ ​a​ ​waiver​ ​for​ ​students​ ​that​ ​use
personal​ ​laptops​ ​and​ ​devices​ ​on​ ​campus​ ​to​ ​complete​ ​school​ ​work​ ​to​ ​be​ ​able​ ​to​ ​access​ ​our​ ​secure​ ​network.​ ​This​ ​is
only​ ​for​ ​students​ ​that​ ​teachers​ ​certify​ ​using​ ​personal​ ​laptops​ ​for​ ​class.​ ​This​ d
​ oes​ ​not​​ ​include​ ​cell​ ​phones.​ ​You​ ​can
be​ ​given​ ​temporary​ ​access​ ​to​ ​CCS-registered​ ​through​ ​you​ ​CCS​ ​login​ ​credentials.​ ​By​ ​signing​ ​this​ ​document:

__________You​ ​agree​ ​to​ ​only​ ​use​ ​your​ ​credentials​ ​on​ ​your​ ​personal​ ​laptop​ ​device​ ​and​ ​not​ ​on
​ ​ ​cell​ ​phones.
__________You​ ​pledge​ ​not​ ​to​ ​give​ ​your​ ​login​ ​credentials​ ​to​ ​other​ ​students​ ​to​ ​use
​ ​ ​personal​ ​devices.
__________You​ ​will​ ​not​ ​use​ ​the​ ​login​ ​credentials​ ​to​ ​access​ ​the​ ​Wi-Fi​ ​on​ ​another​ ​personal
​ ​ ​devices​ ​(like​ ​cell​ ​phones,​ ​iPads)
__________You​ ​will​ ​not​ ​attempt​ ​to​ ​“hack”​ ​or​ ​gain​ ​access​ ​to​ ​network​ ​privileges​ ​not​ ​given​ ​to
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​you​ ​by​ ​default.
Network​ ​engineers​ ​can​ ​run​ ​a​ ​scan​ ​of​ ​usernames​ ​and​ ​types​ ​of​ ​devices​ ​connected​ ​to​ ​the​ ​network.​ ​Failure​ ​to​ ​uphold
any​ ​of​ ​these​ ​agreements​ ​will​ ​result​ ​in​ ​immediate​ ​suspension​ ​of​ ​your​ ​personal​ ​laptop​ ​privileges​ ​and​ ​your​ ​account
will​ ​no​ ​longer​ ​allow​ ​you​ ​BYOT​ ​access.​ ​ ​Students​ ​who​ ​do​ ​not​ ​uphold​ ​the​ ​above​ ​guidelines​ ​may​ ​also​ ​receive
disciplinary​ ​consequences​ ​related​ ​to​ ​a​ ​technology​ ​infraction.
