Each slide will begin with a question such as what is Printed off copies of the slides that students can keep and write notes on to help remember later. As a class the students will with the guide of the teacher on the PowerPoint arrange a list of sentences that can be put together to make a short story. Media/Materials/Resources Slide show on computer Learning activity/Guided practice/Monitoring Adaptations for diverse learners In the pairs from earlier students will be given a worksheet That has another group of sentences that can be put together to form a short story. Instead of having to write the full sentences the worksheet will have an option where the sentences are numbered. Closure Have the whole class come together to talk about the way that they arranged the sentences to create a story and why. Then as a class brainstorm a list of situations that could make fun short stories to write. Assessment Adaptations for diverse learners Collecting the worksheets from the partners will be the formative assessment to see how the students are understanding the structure of a short narrative. The sentences can be put in order by number and turned in that way.
