Running head: DOES GLOBAL WARMING EXIST? DOES GLOBAL WARMING EXIST? Global warming is an existing phenomenon which has over time been demonstrated by weather patterns imbalances (Blaum, Griffin, Wiley, & Britt, 2017, p.310). In the recent meteorological reports, various parts of the world are experiencing rising earth temperatures which are as a result of global warming. Causes of global warming Global warming exists because of various factors, with human activities being in front of these causes. The nature of human activities has necessitated the use of fossil fuels in great quantity (Knutson, 2016). Fossil fuels have been confirmed scientifically, to be emitting carbon dioxide and nitrous oxides which increases the amount of greenhouse gases emitted to the atmosphere. As a result, global warming arises. Through the rising of the human population, there is a need for land expansion which may lead to cutting down of trees to occupy the land. Trees play a very critical role in absorbing carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere. Lack of trees will let these greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, thus, causing global warming. Poor waste management practices contribute greenhouse effect which eventually causes global warming. Landfills as a method of waste management, emit toxic gases to the atmosphere, water, and soil, and increase the greenhouse effect (Blaum, Griffin, Wiley, & Britt, 2017,p.310). Overconsumption of natural resources is another factor which contributes to global warming. DOES GLOBAL WARMING EXIST? 3 Conclusion It is clear that human activities in a significant proportion cause global warming. Various remedial measures need to be taken to avoid the phenomenon causing more harm to human lives. Such measures could include; use of renewable sources of energy, using sustainable infrastructure and transportation, and responsible consumption and recycling of waste products.
