Setting up Email Notification
 Enterprise Manager can be set up to send email notifications about
jobs, metric alerts, plug-in updates.
 Other types of notification are also available (SNMP trap, OS command
notification, PL/SQL procedure notification)
 For each method of notification, a ‘notification method’ needs to be set
up
 After setting up the email notification method. An email won’t be sent
until incident rules have been setup/subscribed to (for metrics) or email
notification specified (for jobs)

Setting up Email Notification - Demo
Setup/Notification/Notification Methods

Enter name of outgoing SMTP server: <this can be found from email settings>

Username:<email address>

Password:<email password>

Identify Sender as: <this can be any name, eg. “12c Cloud Control>

Senders email address:<has to be a valid email address on the network this will be
used to receive the test email>

Use Secure Connection:<specify the setting relevant for your mailserver> eg. SSL

Click on “Test Mail Servers”

Click on “Apply”


Configuring an EM Administrator to receive
email
Go to “Sysman” (or username logged in as )

Choose “”Enterprise Manager Password and Email”

Add another row
Enter email address that will be used to receive email alerts from Enterprise
Manager

OR
Setup/Security/Administrators

Select <administrator name> click on “edit”

Enter email address that will be used to receive email alerts from Enterprise
Manager


To set the EM Administrator Notification
Schedule
Setup/Notifications/My notification schedule

To set a notification schedule for a different EM Administrator, select that
administrator using the ‘magnifying glass’ icon and click on “change”

