Candy Mitosis
1. In this lab you and a partner will recreate the stages of mitosis using pieces of candy provided by Mrs.
Wagner. Each group member will be required to explain and demonstrate all 4 stages of mitosis to Mrs.
Wagner and get a check mark before eating their candy.
2. Candy distribution:
a. Pull-in-peel = cell membrane / nuclear membrane
b. Twizzler Bites = centrioles
c. Gummy worms = chromosomes / sister chromatids
d. Toothpicks = spindle fibers
e. Imagination = centromeres!
3. Stages of Mitosis:
