YOU CAN MAKE ON
THE WORLD?
Name:
WHAT DIFFERENCE DO YOU THINK YOU
CAN MAKE ON THE WORLD?
Answer the question, you can come up with as many answers as you like. Or pick one
big thing and explain in as much detail as you want:

GOAL SETTING

TACKLING OUR CHALLENGES
• When I set goals, I think about my previous experiences, things I did not like, and things that I
wish happened instead. These questions help me start thinking:
– What makes school challenging? Why?
– What makes MATH challenging? Why
– What makes my relationships with others challenging? Why?
For each question, think about what specific changes need to be
made so that you can be successful.

IN ORDER TO MAKE YOUR MARK
ON THE WORLD, AND MAKE THE
DIFFERENCE YOU SET OUT TO
ACCOMPLISH, ONE MUST BE
LOGICAL THINKERS, UNAFRAID
LEARNERS AND PERSISTENT
PROBLEM SOLVERS.

WHAT DO WE NEED TO DO IN ORDER
TO MEET THAT BIG GOAL?
• By the end of the year, everyone will meet the personal
goals set for them
• By the end of the year, everyone makes at least 2 levels of
growth based on the BOY assessment
• By the end of the year, students will be able to construct a
written response, using evidence and reasoning
HOW ARE WE GOING TO GET THOSE
THINGS DONE?
The mindsets and classroom procedures that will be put in place to support this will be:
• Be purposeful with class time
• Respect the classroom and everyone in it
• Making mistakes and having a redo’s is not just okay, but encouraged
• Be thoughtful with how we engage. Learning isn’t a race. Be deep. Not Fast
• Unit quizzes and other tools to track our progress
• Know what you know. Know what you don’t know. Know how to get to the next step
• Have regular goal conferences or receive regular feedback on your progress
• Celebrate growth

WILL HELP US GET TO THE FINISH LINE?
