Improvements on Pepsico’s Advertisement In Thailand In the present age, advertisements play an indispensable role in marketing strategy of every big company. In the penetration in Thailand market, PepsiCo published a television commercial about their mini game named Dishcovery. So far this video had done a good job on promoting the marketing campaign. However, there are still a couple of points where we can improve in order to make it a better commercial video. To begin with, this advertisement lacks lots of attractiveness and memorability. One problem is that too many fast moving words on screens make the audience, who is tired of reading and can not catch up with the speed of texts, bored and confused. Another issue is the one colored screen. Despite the fact that the consistency in background can make audiences focus more on the content, using the sky blue screen throughout the video not only bring a sense of cold but also make it uninteresting. The next key point is that numbers are out of interest of many people. As a result, the audiences can not remember and be impressed by data at the end of the video. These problems lead us to some ideas to ameliorate this commercial. The first suggestion we suppose is adding more pictures instead of text. The audience is more easily attracted to the vivid images than to words and numbers. In other words, we can add a video in which people are having parties and drinking bottles of Pepsi. Images tend to stay longer in people’s memory. Furthermore, this can get across that this mini game can not only bring virtual enjoyment, only a game on social media but also real one in real parties with real friends. IMPROVEMENTS ON PEPSICO’S ADVERTISEMENT IN THAILAND 3 Secondly, we suggest using more multicolored scenes. In fact, colors themselves bring meanings and have some influences on our psychology. For example, change some background into red make people feel more energetic and excited. In addition, the mixture of red, blue and white can induce the audience to think about PepsiCo’s logo [and this leads to a better promotion of the brand]. Finally, include short interviews is a good way to reach people’s hearts and draw their attention because viewers are usually touched by real stories. More specifically, we can replace the numbers by videos asking winner of this campaign about how their feelings and their enjoyments. Therefore, the results of this game will be more realistic and also more emotive. In conclusion, the advertisement about Dishcovery of PepsiCo didn’t get lots of attraction at its full potential. The main reasons are the grand amount of texts and figures with one colored background in all the videos. [...] The text should be replaced by pictures and videos to attract the audiences. We should also consider using more color in the background, especially red and white, so that the commercial become more colorful and interesting. Additionally, we suppose to have some interviews of participants in order to make the video more memorable and affectional.
