tight. We have a variety of standard plans to choose from or
we can build you something completely unique.

Love DIY or a hands-on hobbyist? Or perhaps you’re looking
for a secure place to keep your tools – a combined garage/
workshop is exactly what you need. Our flexible designs
easily fit a workbench and tools plus the family car as well.
We can also supply and install garage storage systems to fit
out your Ideal garage workshop.
Our maximum standard size is 18m long x 9m wide, but
we can specifically engineer and build something larger,
depending on what you need - e.g. tack sheds or boat sheds.
Our standard stud height is 2.1m, which is suitable for
most standard cars, however we can easily build higher
stud height options 2.4m, 2.7m, 3.0m

Utility Sheds
These handy buildings are under 10m2 in floor space,
so do not require a building consent, however they must
satisfy council rules and regulations which Ideal can
advise you on. Utility sheds make great storage for tools,
equipment, garden or lifestyle block chemicals – anything
that you need to keep secure and protected.

Carports
Carports are a cost-effective way to protect your vehicle
from the elements and add value to your home. They’re
also a good option for sites where a garage would restrict
views and access. Our gabled or flat-roofed carports are
available as singles or doubles, freestanding or attached
to other buildings or garages. Customised designs are
also available.

All Ideal buildings are fitted with a top-quality roller
or sectional door maximising strength, security and
good looks. Choose from a wide range of profiles in

Quality Frames and Trusses
All Ideal buildings are constructed with high-strength,
kiln-dried Laserframe structural timber treated to H1.2
level. We have two ranges of buildings to choose from,
The Thrifty, a quality entry level garage or workshop for
use in a medium or high wind zone with wall studs at
1000mm centres.
Quality Roofing and Wall Cladding
Ideal Buildings exclusively use genuine New Zealand
Colorsteel® and Zincalume®. Roofs are available in
either six-rib or corrugate profile, and four-wall cladding
profiles are also available.

Aluminium Joinery
Garaport
Timber floors
A wide range of aluminum windows and doors are
available to enhance your Ideal building. A full colour
chart is available upon request.
Extend your garage space front, back or side with
a Garaport – a useful space for storing that extra
vehicle, trailer or caravan.
Building your sleepout on a timber floor gives you
the flexibility to relocate the building at a future
date if needed. A timber floor can also be used on
a sloping site, while a deck can be added to extend
your living space.
Verandahs
Garage door openers
Roof pitch
A verandah is available as an optional extra on
most Ideal buildings. These add protection from the
weather as well as giving you an extended living
space. Verandahs can be self-supporting or supported
on a beam and posts.
Add a quality Garador overhead garage door opener
to your door for convenience and security. Ideal
specifies the GDO 6 model for Roller doors and
GDO-11 for sectional doors.
Choose from a gable or monopitch roof design.
Gable roof options start at 15-degrees with higher
pitches available to match your existing buildings. A
monopitch roof is available with an 8-degree pitch.

Gable finishes
There are four stud heights available to suit your
vehicle and storage needs. The Thrifty range is
available in 2.1m and 2.4m, and the Classic range
available in 2.1m, 2.4m, 2.7m and 3.0m.
Add a skylight to your garage roof to let natural light and
sun enter the building. Ideal for workshops or stables.
Board and batten or gable cladding is available with
an optional soffit (overhang).
