Was initiated after the failed meech lake accord
One of the proposed ideas was Quebec independence
Another proposed idea was aboriginal self-government
Two groups in support:
a) Quebec
b) Prince Edward Island
Two groups opposed:
a) Newfoundland
b) Manitoba
Why it failed:
Because not enough people voted “yes”, as not a lot of people agreed with the
constitutional changes. Including many different leaders.
