Start of Class Teacher Instruction and Labs Sit at your assigned desk, pull out necessary supplies, and place your backpack on the back left corner cabinet top. Remain in your seat, on task and focused. Be on time and in your assigned seat, ready to learn, when the bell rings. Listen carefully THE FIRST TIME and think about the instructions being given. Avoid interrupting for any reason (including bathroom trips). Ask questions at the end of instruction. Have all necessary supplies ready to go and wait quietly for instructions. Be thoughtful and relevant with questions and respond promptly when asked questions. Be patient and gain attention by raising your hand. Individual Work Whole and Small Group End of Class Focus on your own work and avoid outside distractions. Stay in your work area to keep from interrupting other students. Sit in your desk appropriately and stay on task. Listen carefully to instructions and avoid detracting from the learning opportunities of other students. Stop and put materials away in the appropriate places when instructed by the teacher. Remain in your seat until you are dismissed. Leave the room in an orderly manner. Raise your hand to get the teacher’s attention. Stay on task and work quietly, rather than visiting with your classmates. Participate fully in the discussion or activity. Listen to and acknowledge other comments. It’s okay to disagree, but appreciating and understanding others perspective as a gift is of utmost importance. Remember the teacher excuses you, rather than the bell. Be patient and wait your turn quietly if you need to visit with the teacher. Use an inside voice and be thoughtful of others. Carefully follow instructions and always do the best you can on assignments. Ask intelligent questions. Take turns when speaking and avoid interrupting. Complete and turn in all your assigned work and do the best you can on it. Clean up all of your items and make sure to leave the room BETTER than you found it. Make sure you understand what you need to accomplish by the next class period.
