T.O.K. Pier Review Checklist!
As you read Checklist
1. Prescribed Title has been unpacked and it is clear how they plan to
use the terms and answer the title.
2. Knowledge questions are clearly presented throughout the essay but
not in the introduction.
a. They are general
b. About knowledge
c. Open-ended
3. Title is explored effectivity (taking the title for a ride....)
4. At least 2 A.O.K.’s discussed in the essay.
5. At least 2 W.O.K.’s discussed in the essay, but housed within an
A.O.K. (no naked W.O.K.’s)
6. At least one Knowledge Feature- Something from TOK that is not a
WOK or AOK.
7. At least one personal Example
8. At least a few Researched/ Real world examples (Remember,
examples make or break an essay.)
9. Examples are Cleary explained and detailed, and their link to the title
is clear.

Citations where necessary

Counterclaims can be found
12.
Clear Conclusion
a. Contains final opinions
b. References/answers Prescribed Title
c. References/ answers Knowledge Question
d. Contains final analysis, not just restatement of essay content
13.
Word count is between 1,200 and 1,600

1. Essay made sense
2. Essay stayed on topic to the Prescribed Title and did not get off topic
or on tangents
3. Essay made reference and gave analysis throughout on the
Knowledge Question
4. Essay was driven and stayed on topic to the Thesis statement
5. Essay order made sense and was cohesive in structure (did not jump
around a bunch)

Switch papers with a partner
Read paper and edit for Grammar and spelling only
Next, read and mark everything from the checklist
Address the backside of the checklist to make sure they have everything
Summarize or them what they did well, and what they could still improve upon
