Lesson (1): Early Ages
Beyond Brorders Socil Studies – Level 4
 Starter: Ask the students:
- Do you think life in the early ages was similar to life nowadays? Why?
- Name two things we have now but didn’t exist in the early ages.
- Do you think the changes that happened are good or bad? Why?
- Ask the students how they can imagine life in the early ages and how much
it differs from the time we live in now.
 Ask the students what they can tell from the name “Ice Age” and look at the
map on page 93 and show the students the area where the ice age is.
ACTIVITIES
(Teaching and Learning)
 Ask students what they can tell from the name “Stone Age”.
 Explain that people depended on stones to do many things like hunting
animals, fighting with others, etc… the stone they used was called
flintstone. Imagine the things they could do using stones. What might they
be? (Possible answer: cutting trees, making fire, building small houses,
killing animals etc...)
 Let students imagine the life of people in the past. You can use pictures for
prediction.
 Read through pages 92 to 94.

