The first step for the box making is identifying the length,
width and height of the box using the dimensions of the cardboard.
The formula above shows how we got our desired measurements for
our box. We identified the “x” which is 3 inches and will also be the
height of the box. After solving, we got the measurements, 14 inches
for the length, 9 inches for the width and 3 inches for the height. We
got the maximum volume of the box by multiplying the length,
width, and height of the box. Over-all, the maximum volume of the
box is 378 in^3.
