1.How to develop good soccer dribbling skills
1. 1. Contact the ball gently and often to get more control
1.2. Keep the ball close to feet so it’s hard for defender to intercept the ball
1.3. Use laces to dribble forward to gain speed and balance
1.4. Keep the ball in the bottom of peripheral vision to gain awareness of the field.
1.5. Change the pace to confuse defender
1.6. Use body part to protect the ball, eg. Legs, arms, shoulders, body.
1.7. Train both legs equally to better control and flexibility
1.8. Dribble with purpose: explode to space, make room for a shot or to pass
1.9. Use different part of feet: inside, outside, laces, sole
1.10. Learn how to beat player to create opportunity.
2. How to pass a soccer ball?
2.1. with the inside of the foot
While running and passing, slow down and put the weak foot about even with the ball.
While standing still take a step back and put foot plant even with the ball.
Point plant foot to target. With the inside of the foot, connect solidly with the middle of the ball.
Follow through and bring the leg up.
2.2 with the outside of the foot
POSTURE:
A. The ball is approached frontally. There is no bending of the leg or else just a small bend.
B. The upper body is bent slightly over the ball.
SUPPORTING LEG:
1. The supporting leg/foot is placed on a level with the ball, but at a distance. This is because the
kicking foot needs some internal legroom in order to hit the ball.
2. The body weight is shifted onto the supporting leg.
3. The supporting leg is bent slightly.
KICKING LEG:
1. The kicking leg is slightly or even strongly (hard!) angled and lifted.
2. The toes are turned inwards in the direction of the supporting leg.
3. The ball is struck using the middle of the outside of the foot.
