WOLFPACK FLAG FOOTBALL RULES 1. Team Requirements: A team shall consist of 8 players Substitutions are allowed between plays and during time outs. 2. Equipment and Facilities Rubber cleated shoes are allowed. No metal cleats Covering flags: a team will get two warnings, then a 10 yard penalty will be assessed All flag belts must be free of knots 3. Start of the game and timing: Toss of the Coin- 3 minutes before the start of the game, the referee will conduct a captains meeting in which he or she will designate which captain shall call the toss of the coin, The captain winning the toss will have a choice of options for the first half or shall defer his/her option to the second half. The two options are to choose whether his or her team will start on offense or defense or choose which goal to defend. 1 time-out per half are allowed per team The ball must be put into play no more than 25 seconds after the official has placed the ball Games will consist of two 15 min halves with a three minute half time. Timing will be continuous for the first half, and the first 13 minutes of the second half. Only timeouts can stop the clock. Two minutes before the end of the second half the referee shall stop the clock and inform both captains of the time left on the clock. The clock will restart on the snap During the final two minutes of the second half the clock will stop for a: o Incomplete pass o Out of bounds o Team time out o First down o o o o Touchdown Penalty Referee time out Touchback 4. Games rules: Field dimensions are 60 yards by 30 yards with 10 yard endzones. Yard markings every 20 yards. The ball will be placed on the 5 yard line after every touchdown Teams can elect to either throw off or kick off after a touchdown A team shall have four consecutive downs to advance to the next zone line to gain to earn a first down The line to gain in any series will be 15 yards from the line of scrimmage barring any penalties When a flag is removed from a player the down shall end and the ball is declared dead. If a flag inadvertently falls off a one hand tag between the shoulders and the knees constitutes a capture Offense and defense must have 3 members on the line Offensive linemen can block but not extend arms Each member of the offensive team is eligible to receive a pass unless the player voluntarily goes out of bounds during the play A defensive player can rush the line only after a 3 second count The center must snap the ball in one continuous motion but does not have to snap the ball through his legs Before the snap all offensive players must come to a complete stop for at least 1 full second For a legal catch, a receiver must come down with at least one foot in bounds. Defensive and offensive players can put hands on each other within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage Extra Point Attempts- A try for two points is taken from the 10 yard line and 1 point from the 3 yard line 5.
