Cosmetic Design - App Development Project
Part 1
Math Practice App’s homepage is focused on given the user a direct and simple dashboard that
facilitates the navigation through different categories related to mathematics. The top of the
application consists of a toolbar with a menu button (Three lines icon) that gives a compact view
of the different menu options available in the application as well as a help icon that is designated
to give the user usage tips for the application. The main part of the homepage consists of a
colorful dashboard with multiple buttons to access lessons for different areas of mathematics.
Right next to these buttons there is another button labeled “Test” that is meant to send the user to
a new window where he/she can practice what they have learned. The customer needs that were
considered for this design were mainly that the homepage of the application had to feel intuitive
and friendly, this was achieved by displaying all the necessary actions within one click as well as
styling them with colorful designs and symbols that don’t seem intimidating. The application
fulfills the main objective of organizing a page where users can easily access all the elementary
areas of mathematics for studying purposes; which directly related to the client’s main criteria
for design and functionality.
