You will create a book to investigate the stages of the cell cycle.
The book must have the following criteria:
1. Cover: Name, Block, Title (4 points)-Must be creatively done!
2. Introduction: Include a drawing of the cell cycle, labelled correctly and a description explain the purpose of the cell cycle. (15
pts)
3. Name of each stage on it’s own page: (Interphase: (G1, S, G2), M: mitosis (prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase) and
cytokinesis. (2 pts each, 16 total, 5 pts for correct order.)
4. Include a drawing of each stage (5 pts each, 40 total)
5. Include a description of each stage in complete sentences. (5 pts each, 40 total)
6. Summary (10 pts): Answer each question below:
a. Why do cells divide?
b. List the stages of the cell cycle, identify the two main parts
c. Which stages are part of Interphase? Of Mitosis?
d. What is the purpose of Interphase?
e. What is the purpose of mitosis?
f. What would happen if the cell did not divide?
