Surah e Takathur • Lets suppose you find a genie in a bottle who told you he can grant you 3 wishes… • Take out a piece of paper and write your 3 wishes down… How many of you want more wishes??? Why even a lot is not enough??? Because…. “Takathur” The desire to surpass one another in the acquisition of wealth has allured you تم لوگوں کو زیادہ سے زیادہ اور ایک دُوسرے سے بڑھ کر دنیا حاصل کرنے کی دُھن نے غفلت میں ڈال رکھا ہے What is takathur?? تکاثر ک ثرت Plenty Desire to have dunya تکاثر Competing in having dunya Taking pride in having dunya Every one wants more of…. Humans are programmed that way… and all humanity shares this love for dunya… . 1 4 No matter how much dunya you have.. You will still want more of it….. Never get satisfied Prophet(pbuh) was scared of worldly desires to sprout up in Ummah Why was prophet(pbuh) concerned about takathur??? • Whatever is on this earth is created for humans.. • Wealth could even be used for the acquisition of Allah’s Jannah.. By spending it fi sabeel illah.. By thanking Allah • HAVING DUNYA IS NOT EVIL .. THE DESIRE TO HAVE DUNYA IS RATHER DIABOLICAL… Why was prophet(pbuh) concerned about takathur??? • Because… • It can delude you…… it can distract you الھکم ٰ لھو distraction What are you distracted from?? Your purpose of life Muhasiba: looking inside of your heart. Quran Akhirah and death. What are you distracted from?? Why it is not mentioned in the surah?? Because it is so obvious. Qariah: hell fire What next??? After a life of delusion and distraction??? Until you visit the graves ب گور تک پہنچ جاتے ہو۔ ِ یہاں تک کہ (اِسی فکر میں) تم ل The very thing you were running away from will approach you.. A word used for the time spent in grave… showing how short our life in this dunya is if thousands of years spent in grave are so miniscule زرتم زیار ۃ Temporary visit say you 'the enjoyment of the world is little and the Hereafter is better for the god fear(nisaa:77) Reality of the worldly life Know that the life of the world is not but a sport and amusement and an adornment and a source of boasting among yourselves and desiring multiplication in riches and children against one another It is like the rain whose vegetation pleased the tillers, then it dried up that you see it yellow then it was trampled into pieces. And in the Hereafter, there is severe torment and forgiveness from Allah and His pleasure. And the life of the world is nothing but a deceitful wealth.(hadeed) Yes, soon you will come to know. Again , soon you will come to know ہرگز نہیں ،عنقریب تم کو معلوم ہو سن لو کہ) ہرگز نہیں، جائے گا۔پھر ( ُ عنقریب تم کو معلوم ہو جائے گا۔ When will you come to know?? ستعلمو ن سوف تعلمون After your death…. • Delusions will vanish …. • The reality will become clear.. • Hazrat ALI (ra) said,” people are sleeping and when they die they wake up.” • Assuredly, you were heedless of this, therefore We have removed from you the covering, so today your sight is sharp (50:22) What will you come to know…?? • Neither akhirah was worth forgetting nor Dunya was worth indulging… • Ayah is repeated?? • Warning.. • Emphasis Yes, it you would have knows with knowledge of certainty: you would not have loved wealth Undoubtedly, you shall necessarily, see Hell Then again, undoubtedly you shall necessarily see it with the eye of certainty اگر تم یقینی علم کی حیثیت سے (اِس،ہر گز نہیں روش کے انجام کو) جانتے ہوتے (تو تمہارا یہ پھر،طرز عمل نہ ہوتا)۔ تم دوزخ دیکھ کر رہو گے ِ سن لو کہ) تم بالکل یقین کے ساتھ اُسے دیکھ ُ ( What is yaqeen?? • Literally: solid, unflinching conviction… even stronger than iman • Imam Raghib said,” yaqeen is the kind of knowledge that is above just being familiar or having information.” • In Quran yaqeen is also used in place of death. Even a kaafir believes in death while diagreeing with the concept of hereafter. Stages of yaqeen. علم الیقین Having knowledge of Saw smoke: may be there is fire عین الیقین Witnessed See fire.. حق الیقین Experienced Felt the heat of fire Yaqeen upon akhirah.. • Allah has given opportunity to humans to avail ilm ul yaqeen in this world, through his creation.. His book.. His words • Kaafir want ain ul yaqeen.. Every human will have it on the judgment day You will definitely, definitely, definitely see jahannam ن ن ل (جواب )القسم Stare of lion before it is about to eat you Every human being will see jahannam.. Then We know very well those who are worthiest to be roasted in the Fire. There is not one of you who may not pass over the Hell this is necessarily a decided thing for your Lord. Then We shall save the God fearing; and will leave the unjust in it falling on their knees. (19:70-72) تم میں سے کوئی ایسا نہیں ہے جو جہنّم پر وارد یہ تو ایک طے شدہ بات ہے جسے پُورا،نہ ہو رب کا ِذ ّمہ ہے۔ پھر ہم اُن لوگوں کو ّ کرنا تیرے Hadith: People will cross the bridge that will be over the bridge will be thorny iron, ظالموں اورHell. تھےOnمتقی )دنیا میں ( جو لیں گے بچا hooks, and clasps, which will catch people from the right and left. The angels on the bridge ُ کو ا گے۔ دیں چھوڑ وا ہ را گ میں سی ُ ِ will pray, "O my Allah, give salvation." Some will cross the bridge like lightning; some, like the wind; some, like a running horse; some, by running; some, by walking; some, by crawling; some, by creeping. As for those who will go to Hell, they will neither die nor attain a new life. After sinners burn in Hell as much as their sins, intercession for them [sinners] will be permitted. [Bukhari] Then, undoubtedly, you shall surely be asked about the favours. پھر ضرور اُس روز تم سے اِن نعمتوں کے بارے میں جواب طلبی کی جائے گی۔ Easier solution to obstain from takathur… • Remember.. You will be questioned about the blessings you enjoy. • Five questions of akhirah On the Day of Resurrection, people will be asked about other matters, including the following: It was narrated from Ibn Mas’ood (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The son of Adam will not be dismissed from before his Lord on the Day of Resurrection until he has been questioned about five things: his life and how he spent it, his youth and how he used it, his wealth and how he earned it and how he disposed of it, and how he acted upon what he acquired of knowledge.” [Tirmithi] The end
