Kaleab Aregawi Id- MD/021/18 Oct. 22, 2018 MY FAVORITE TEACHER In Ethiopia, especially in government schools, every subject in elementary school (from grade one up to four) is given by only two teachers. These two teachers teach: math, general science, Amharic, English, physical education and music. And one of my favorite teachers Mrs. Abebu Kebede taught me from grade one up to four and she has had a huge impact on my life eversince. Mrs. Abebu was very strict but funny and caring in nature. She knew well about how to handle small children in her class and I still remember her unique way of teaching children. She used to tell us to be passionate about our studies and to be good people in general. She always gives motivation to the students who did well in studies and also in sports. She was very strict while teaching and never want anyone to disturb however she was also famous in the whole school for making the class happy with her jokes. Mrs. Abebu truly cared about her student’s education. She pushed us to do our best and she didn’t accept laziness. She never beat students in the class unnecessarily. But when we did something wrong she disciplined us and teaches us good behavior. She was also a very patriotic and religious woman. She taught us to love our country, respect its flag and national anthem. She taught us to be respectful to one another. She taught us “all human beings are equal and there is no superior or inferior tribe or ethnic group”. Mrs. Abebu has taught me lots of things and I am very grateful for everything she did for me and all my childhood classmates. I am very grateful for having such a teacher in my life and I am very thankful for all the knowledge she gave me and all her good impact in my life.
