a) OCCUPATIONAL TITLE: Doctor
b) NATURE OF THE WORK: A medical doctor (also called a physician in ancient times) is a person
who uses medicine to treat illness and injuries. Doctors are trained in medical schools which are
usually part of a university. They usually hold a college degree in medicine.
c) WORK ENVIRONMENT: Surgeons and anesthesiologists usually work in well-lighted,
sterile environments while performing surgery and often stand for long periods. Most work in
hospitals or in surgical outpatient centers. Many physicians and surgeons work long, irregular
hours.
d) EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR CERTIFICATION:
EDUCATION - A 4 or 5 year undergraduate degree program is needed before entering medical
school. After getting a medical degree, you may start a residency program and obtain licensure.
TRAINING - This usually includes four years of undergraduate education followed by four years
of medical school, divided into two years of classroom training in medicine and two years of
clinical training.Prospective doctors must then complete a 3-7 yearresidency program before
their training is finished.
CERTIFICATION - Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, complete a residency,
and be licensed by the state.

REFLECTION ABOUT RESEARCH
Today, I am studying hard not just for myself, but also for my family. I know that failure
will always be around the corner but I should also learn from my failures so I can use the
lessons I learned for my future. I am not afraid to fail for even the most successful people
failed before they achieved their dreams.
